Organic GABA tea is an enjoyable rich and full flavored tasting, Oolong tea. The high content of natural GABA in this tea makes it an exceptionally healthy beverage. It can be enjoyed hot or cold and is especially well suited for a bowl of tea or a large mug. Just throw a few in and watch the large leaves unfurl.

GABA stands for gamma-aminobutyric acid, an amino acid that is one of the main neurotransmitters in your central nervous system. Neurotransmitters help nerve signals to travel between cells (neurons). The GABA chemical functions to prevent over-excitement of the nervous system by controlling the movement of signals between neurons.

GABA tea has an abundant amount of health benefits. Some would even describe GABA as a ‘super tea’.

Possible benefits of GABA supplementation

ANTI-ANXIETY, DE-STRESS: GABA is a chemical that your body produces to keep the brain calm, control blood pressure and manage stress. High levels of GABA prevent an over-active nervous system by blocking excessive levels of nerve signal transmissions that cause anxiety-related health issues.

The leaves are exposed to nitrogen, rather than oxygen which causes the natural glutamic acid in the tea leaves to be converted to Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA).

It is still debatable whether the GABA can cross the blood-brain barrier but in many scientific research trials the effect of drinking GABA tea is shown to reduce the HRV (Heart Rate Variable) which is an indicator of stress and anxiety.

Other than all its supported benefits it is all around a really pleasant tea to drink with a smooth taste and no bitterness.
